Too much basic knowledge! We’re on a higher level!

I left an hour ago, due to the same reason, Gerrit said. It was a very good tutorial for beginners. But boring for professionals.

I'm sorry to hear that the material wasn't advanced enough for you: my assumption for this session was that attendees would have basic JavaScript knowledge but would have not experimented with Ajax much before. I'd be interested to know the kind of topics you would have liked to hear covered.

i'd emphasise that opinion. The talk was great. I imagine it hardly possible to delve deeper into Ajax in this amount of time than Simon did.
But this lesson should have been marked more clearly as a Beginners-tutorial.

Some quick ideas for a more advanced session:
Server-push-techniques ( "Comet" )
A deeper view into Accessablity and Ajax.
Best practices
Maybe programming Ajax (+dhtml...) using custom events.

Whoops, I posted this for Simon's session, not the workshop... here's my comments from there.

"I thought Simon gave the best presentation at a conference in Paris in May, so I stopped in for a look at this one too.

Excellent selection of topics and a broad coverage. His presentations are spot-on for my needs. Well done."

I have done a fair amount of JavaScript before and some basic AJAX via a server-side code framework (Wicket). The workshop really gave me a good understanding of it from the ground up.
